A People in Christ's Service

With our historic building, the Central Honesdale congregation inherits a distinct legacy.  We are both proud and humbled to be the the stewards of this legacy.  We carry on the tradition of inspiring worship, quality Christian education, and life giving missionIt’s a tradition that was established when the Methodists gathered in Honesdale in the early 19th Century. We are a living congregation with a vision of the future.  Our congregation is committed to “seek the welfare of our town. . . and pray for it;” (Jer. 33:3) for we believe that we will find our own welfare in our community, while we live here. We have chosen to live in Honesdale.

Mission Service

Throughout the years we have actively lived in service to Christ locally, nationally, and internationally. Our committment in ministry to God's people everywhere is exemplified by the number of Christian missionaries that have come from our church who heeded Christ's call to "make disciples of all nations, baptizing of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you."
